The Tricycle theatre works were designed to expand the auditorium and overhaul/remodel the venue’s front of house capabilities. The overhaul has increased the size of the auditorium, which seated 235 seats in a proscenium arch style, by 50 seats and allows for an adaptable layout that can be reconfigured for theatre in the round, cabaret, and traverse.

A new café area has been formed as part of the refurbishment. The Backstage areas have also been made more accessible, improving get-in and get-out points for the installation of new productions. In addition, access for disabled audiences has also been improved with the Theatre increasing the number of wheelchair accessible seats from two to eight.
