Chigwell School

The works consisted of the strip out and renovation of the existing Dining room and adjacent Swallow room. The two dining halls were connected with a newbuild dining room extension. The newbuild element consisted of piling, floating floor slab and steel superstructure.

The room was designed to have no internal columns which could interfere with the chair and table layouts. The front elevation of the new building is a glass wall.

Works to the building have taken place during school terms, and all adjoining facilities were in full use during the works.
