The works comprised the extension and refurbishment of the existing terraced house including demolition of the rear extension, removal of the existing roof, underpinning of party walls, construction of new extension and new roof incorporating new second floor living space, and refurbishment of remainder of existing house.

Carthew Road is a quiet residential street and access to the site is limited, constant liaison with neighbours and the Local Authority is crucial. The locality forms part of a conservation area and a high level of traditional construction skills, provided largely by our in house operatives, have been required. Due to limited space very careful sequencing of the works and a fully designed temporary support scheme was necessary.
